It depends on you how you trained the Akita shepherd if u have socialize them enough then these dogs are good with the small pets and extra ordinary with the children of your family. The training is the main factor to make a dog a good socialize animal. And a good consistent in commanding and obedience Akita shepherd is possible if a leader is fully resolute and knows how to command over the dogs and how to lead them. If the Akita shepherds are not good trained they can be dangerous for the children. And some time misperception can be a cause of disastrous biting by Akita shepherds to other children than your family. For example when your children are indulged to play a game with other children the Akita perceives them a threat to your children and attack on other kids.
