A cross American Pit Bull Terrier / Siberian Husky or Alaskan Husky is known as Pitsky. They may have the best traits of their parents. Good for every climate Pitskys are even tempered dogs. These dogs love to play with children. When they come from the mixing of American Pit Bull terrier with Siberian husky they may inherit the qualities of Siberian husky and pit bulls. When they are a mix of American pit-bull and Alaskan husky their temperament may vary from earlier dog (cross of Siberian husky and APBT). Either they are a mix of APBT and Alaskan husky or Siberian husky they may have chasing instinct and can chase small animals. They make a good family pet but are good guard and watch dogs. They have the power of pit bull terrier and the stamina of Siberian or Alaskan husky. The parents of these dogs are large dogs so it may be a medium to large dog which have weight between 35 to 80 pounds and height between 20 and 24. Pitsky may live up to 15 years or more. There some talents are Hunting, Sledding, racing, guarding and watchdog.
with a sturdy and compact body these dogs may have appearance of Alaskan husky/Siberian husky and APBT. Mostly they have a broad and wide head between erected/pointed ears. Eyes are well set, deep and almond like. A long square muzzle is there that is mostly comes in black colors. The muscular legs are very bonny. The coat of these hybrid may vary from dog to dog it is depend that what parent they have. The Pitsky may have shiny, short and smooth coat of pit bull or Alaskan husky or a Siberian husky’s long haired woolen coat. It comes in a verity of colors of their parent breeds. They grooming of this unique energetic hybrid dog is as like their parent dogs. They may average to heavy shedding dogs as like their parents so the fine, short shiny coat of Pitsky is easy to groom and required only normal grooming and brushing to keep the dog’s tidy look.
Pitsky is an even tempered dog which may good with children, small pets at home raised together, remember they have chasing instinct. They may chase not only small pets but even deer like animals. They may run very fast after deer, rabbits and squirrels. Over all they are good with children and all ages. They are healthy hybrid but may inherit some health issues from their parents. The all parent breeds of this hybrid are intelligent and easy to train so Pitsky may be very easy to train. Socialization training is vital for these dogs. These dogs required fair amount of exercises to burn their energy. They require taken out on daily walk, run or jog. Pitsky may very active indoor and can do well in apartment if trained properly and exercised well. They may act good while have a large fenced yard. But remember an husky mix may escape from yard while have not much care of owners.
